Wellcome Trust Institutional Strategic Support Fund

The University of Leeds has been awarded a grant of £1.25m over five years from the Wellcome Trust Institutional Strategic Support Fund (ISSF) to support biomedical and related research which has been matched by an equal investment by the University.

Funding is available to support non-clinical and clinical early career researchers in order to enable them to realise their potential and position themselves for competitive external Fellowship application. Funding is also available to support discipline hopping (e.g. to develop new internal or external collaborations) and also to support researchers returning to work after extended periods of leave (e.g. maternity, paternity or adoption leave, caring for children or relatives, injury, illness or bereavement).
